WhiteFlag has teamed up with Hayley Hasselhoff and CheckInWithYou to give the people of Los Angeles County access to immediate, anonymous and free mental health peer-to-peer support. By using the #CheckInWithYouLA background filter and placing #CheckInWithYouLA in your WhiteFlag story, Angelenos can now find one another within the WhiteFlag community for empathy and understanding.

FIND YOUR COMMUNITY IN 3 DIFFERENT WAYS:

1

Select the #CheckInWithYouLA

Filter in Your Background

Whether you're raising or answering a white flag for peer support, adding the #CheckInWithYouLA filter in your background section will help you find others in your community. Our "suffering from" section also has a "Natural Disaster Survivor" filter to find others who have been through similar struggles.

2

Add #CheckInWithYouLA

to Your WhiteFlag Story

Every WhiteFlag user has the opportunity to write and share their story on their profile. Adding #CheckInWithYouLA and your experience with the LA wildfires to your story allows other Angelenos to search our community and find stories like yours. Feel free to add more than just the hashtag;

your story deserves to be heard!

3

Search Other WhiteFlag User Stories

By using the search feature in the top left of WhiteFlag's home screen, you can find others with the #CheckInWithYouLA hashtag in their stories, others affected by the LA wildfires and other natural disasters, and more. Searching WhiteFlag can help you find any peer connection you're looking for.

Launched in 2020 during unprecedented times, CHECKINWITHYOU aims to encourage individuals to check in with themselves and others. We created a collective video with voices from the industry—Ricki Lake, Chris Martin, Harvey Guillen, David Hasselhoff, and more—to send a message of solidarity, emphasizing that no one is ever alone during challenging moments.

Today, the mission continues through partnerships with various mental health non-profits, brands, and events, working to destigmatize mental health conversations and share tools for support during times of need or triumph.
